Wesley Webb, 80, of Kingsford Heights, IN, died peacefully at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, in his home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1934, in Valparaiso, IN, to Waldo and Mary Elizabeth (Gast) Webb.
Wesley was very proud to have been employed as a railroad switchman for 39 years and 9 months. He attended the Presbyterian Church and enjoyed trains, floral and vegetable gardening, summer fishing trips to Florida and Lake Erie, and tinkering around the house. Wesley will be lovingly remembered as a great father, with a great sense of humor who also loved his nieces and nephews.
In May 1992 in LaPorte, he married the love of his life, Peggy (Hopper) Webb, who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Teresa (Tom) Kruse of Valparaiso and Wesley Webb of California; two sisters, Karen Marshall of Valparaiso and Jennie (Gene) Good of Venice, FL; two grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Wilford and John Webb; and one sister, Monafae Hawes.
A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, with Pastor James Bouslog officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
