Mrs. Virginia Mae Renfro, 76, of LaPorte, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at her home.
She was born May 23, 1937, in Michigan City, IN, to Lester Sanford Harper and Iva Mae (Dulin) Harper.
Virginia and her husband were owners of the LaPorte Roller Rink for 42 years. She was a member of First Christian Church of LaPorte. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
On Sept. 26, 1959, in Michigan City, she married Edward W. Renfro, who preceded her in death Dec. 3, 2001.
Her parents and one brother, Donald E. Harper, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa A. (Gerald “Pete”) Cable of LaPorte; three grandchildren, Rachel A. Cable, Chad W. Cable and Gwendolyn L. Cable; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, on Friday, March 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 29, from 9 to 10 a.m. A life celebration will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Everett Shattuck officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
