Marguerite “Peggy” E. Wilson, 86, of LaPorte, died peacefully at 9:27 a.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Golden Living Center-Fountainview Terrace, LaPorte.
She was born May 10, 1927, in Robinson, IL, to Orvil “Bud” Daughtery and Hazel Ann (Farnsworth) Van Winkle.
Peggy, before retiring to a gardening life, worked as a house painter with her partner, Laura (Lou) King. She loved painting and gardening. Peggy was a beloved wife and mother who will be dearly missed.
On Aug. 20, 1945, at the Sleepy Hollow Farm, Robinson, IL, she married the love of her life of 69 years, Donald “Pee Wee” Wilson, who survives.
Also surviving are her children, Robert (Liela) Wilson of Texas and Roxanne (George) Watkins and Pamela (Danial) Brewer, both of LaPorte; one brother, Shelby (Twyla) Daughtery of Robinson, IL; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and her two beloved “wiener” dogs, Oscar and Frank.
Her parents preceded her in death.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
