Leslie Ford Horn, 68, of Michigan City, Ind., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ill.

He was born June 16, 1953, in Michigan City, the son of Edsel Ford Horn and Alice Marie (Metts) Horn.

A lifelong resident of the area, Les was an over-the-road truck driver who traveled across North America but always called Michigan City home. While he was home, he faithfully attended Full Gospel Church of Deliverance in Michigan City. Most of his friends and family could always find Les at Joe’s Bar and Grill, the neighborhood gathering spot, when he was in town. Les loved wearing his cowboy boots and enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a free-spirited, big-hearted, kind person who loved kids and would do anything for anybody.

Les is survived by two daughters, Denise Horn of Michigan City and Julia Horn of Michigan City; brother, Larry (Shirley) Horn of Michigan City; sister, Kimberly Horn of Michigan City; step-children, Shirley O’Neill, Nancy Cox, Kim Faith, Kenneth O’Neill and Anthony O’Neill; and a large extended family including many grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Horn, and his brother, Terry Horn.

Services will be private. Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, La Porte, is handling arrangements.
