Charles Russell Dadlow, 86, of North Judson, Ind., passed away Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at Northwest Health-La Porte.

He was born April 1, 1935, in La Porte, Ind., the son of Russell and Dorothy (Whorwell) Dadlow.

A lifelong resident of the area, Charles was the owner of Jeepacres, New Carlisle, Ind., as well as D&D Boat Mart. He loved to work, but he also loved to play. An avid fisherman and deer hunter, he especially enjoyed duck and goose hunting. He had a converted bus, which he took on trips to Colorado for his deer-hunting trips.  Charles was also a big family man and thoroughly loved big family gatherings, where he was the life of the party, mainly because of his great gift of gab.

Charles and the love of his life, Mary Jo (Petrie) Dadlow, were married Oct. 7, 1967. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, C. Douglas (Cindy) Dadlow of Shirley, Ark., and Daniel Dadlow of Lowell, Ind.; two daughters, Deborah (Michael) Dillon of Wheatfield, Ind., and Kimberly (Richard) Facciolo of Wilmington, Del.; two brothers, Wayne Dadlow of La Porte and Dennis “Butch” (Nancy) Dadlow of La Porte; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his daughters, Tamara Swisher and Dena Marie Damian; and a brother, Dallas Collings.

A graveside service will be held Monday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. at Patton Cemetery, La Porte, with Pastor Kal Morrison, New Carlisle First United Methodist Church, officiating. A luncheon will be served after the service. Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, La Porte, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shiners Children’s Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Fla. 33607, in Chuck’s memory.

Messages of condolence may be posted below.
