Betty M. Reynolds, 79, of La Porte, Ind., passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at 12:15 a.m. in her home.
She was born July 16, 1942, in Chicago to William and Anna (Paulus) Marohn.
Betty retired in 2003 after 30 years as an executive secretary for the Cooperative Extension Service and Continuing Education Department of Purdue University North Central Campus in Westville, Ind. She was an active member of the Westville Tri Kappa – Zeta Omicron Chapter. Betty enjoyed traveling, gardening, QVC shopping, going out for lunch, and watching her grandchildren grow.
Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Reynolds of Chandler, Ariz., and Kathleen (Mike) Parlier of Trussville, Ala.; son, Patrick (Wendy) Reynolds of Michigan City, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Spencer Stoehr, Sydney Stoehr, Connor Reynolds, William Martin, Mitchell Parlier, MaKenzie Parlier, Mariah Parlier, and Mason Parlier; and 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Ann (the late James) Dugan.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, with Rev. William F. O’Toole officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City. Visitation will be at the funeral chapel Friday, Aug. 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service.
