Marjory Barnhart, 91, of La Porte, Ind., passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.
She was born July 26, 1929, in La Porte, Ind., to Walter and Fern Eva (Wilson) Euler.
Marjory worked at American Home Foods for many years, and was later a homemaker. She enjoyed softball and swimming at the YMCA, which she did for over 30 years. She found great joy in completing jigsaw puzzles.
Marjory was a volunteer at St. John’s Thrift Shop and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also active in the VFW and American Legion auxiliaries.
On June 13, 1948, in La Porte, she married Ronald Holt Barnhart, who preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2006.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Crystal Parmley; two sisters, Marilyn Schlutt and Barbara Hagenow; and three brothers, Wayne Euler, Norm Euler and toddler Walter Euler.
Surviving Marjory are her children, Melanie (Mike) Dicken of Christiansburg, Va., Marilee (Randy) Parmley of La Porte, John H. Barnhart of Savannah, Ga., Ronald W. Barnhart of New Carlisle, Ind., James (Alicia) Barnhart of La Porte, and David R. (Paula) Barnhart of New Carlisle; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte, with Pastor Ken Schaeffer officiating. Burial will follow at Patton Cemetery, La Porte. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.
