Steven W. Bryant, 66, of La Porte, Ind., passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Northwest Health – Portage, Ind.
He was born in Saginaw, Mich., on Sept. 6, 1954, to William W. Bryant and Lois A. (Shoemaker) Bryant-Didier.
Steven proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a supervisor for many years at Independent Steel in New Buffalo, Mich. He enjoyed collecting guns, viewing movies and listening to music. Steven also enjoyed computers and science fiction. Above all things, Steven enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.
On July 1, 1988, in Crown Point, Ind., he married Patricia Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Jarod (Carol) Bryant of Benton, Ark., Crystal (Jason) Bloom of Midland, Tex., Jennifer (Daniel) Nelson of Burkburnett, Tex., Rebecca (Kenneth) Orris of Portage, Michelle (Christopher) Walden of La Porte, and Wesley Bryant of La Porte; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Cindy (Tom) Childs of Bridgeport, Mich., Brenda Moffett of Saginaw, Mich., and Bruce Bryant of La Porte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Bryant, and stepfather, Everett Didier.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 25, at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the service.
