Eric R. Boklund, Jr., 64, of Mill Creek, Ind., passed away Friday, May 22, 2021, in Mill Creek surrounded by loved ones.
He was born Sept. 6, 1956, in La Porte, Ind., the son of Eric, Sr., and Ruth (Schroeder) Boklund.
Eric was a member of Sauktown Church of Christ and enjoyed preaching, hunting, and living his life raising, teaching and uplifting his beloved children, Elin Marie Boklund and Eric Robert Boklund III.
He was a tool and die maker by trade and a CNC machine operator at Fitech in Michigan City, Ind. The executive board at the School of American Music, Three Oaks, Mich., donated to the SAM Scholarship Fund in memory of Eric, as he always supported the town through preaching at Three Oaks Church of Christ and supporting the School of American Music, where his daughter currently teaches.
He is survived by his three sisters, Jaqueline Hitzeman of Fort Wayne, Ind., Christine Nelson of La Porte and Teresa Dunlap of La Porte; one brother, Mark (Kim) Boklund of Michigan City, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce Boklund; brother-in-law, John Hitzeman; and sister, Sharon Kroening.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 26, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, La Porte. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, La Porte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eric’s children, Elin and Eric.
