On Sunday, May 10, 2021, Florian Mareska, loving husband, brother, and grandpa, passed away at age 72.
Florian was born Nov. 28, 1948, in Knox, Ind., to James and Rose (Mazurek) Mareska.
On Nov. 4, 1966, Florian married the love of his life, Marie (Wright) Mareska. They raised a son, Jim Mareska, and a daughter, Jackie (Mareska) Fisher.
His love for Marie was showcased each and every day. Florian and Marie were able to spend an adventurous and loving 55 years together. Florian and Marie were a great example of true love.
Florian was a proud member of the Electrical Union for 53 years. He had a passion for International and Case tractors and was known to be able to fix and restore just about anything with the help of his son. He enjoyed his afternoon walks down the two acres with Marie, Squirt and Snickers. He was a grandfather of 5 and a great-grandfather of 2. One of his greatest joys was being a grandpa and he has the “Best Grandpa” shirts to prove it.
Florian is survived by his wife, Marie, and his son, Jim (Michelle) Mareska of Hanna, Ind.; 5 grandchildren: Samantha, Andrew Fisher, Sarah, Cassy, and Ashley Mareska; and brother: John Mareska of LaPorte, Ind.
Florian was preceded in death by his parents; daughter; brother, Joe Mareska; and sister, Floraine Mareska.
Arrangements are being handled by O’Donnell Funeral Home, 302 Lane St., North Judson, Ind., where a memorial service will be held Saturday May 15, from 10 a.m. to noon La Porte time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
