Kenneth David Baldridge, 73, of Valparaiso, Ind., passed away peacefully at 8:50 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021, at VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso.
He was born June 30, 1947, in La Porte, Ind., to Edward and Antoinette (Nedza) Baldridge.
Kenneth was a steel worker for 45 years out of Burns Harbor, working for Bethlehem Steel, Mittal Steel and ISG. He formerly attended Valparaiso Tech and Purdue, studying electronics. Kenneth was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Valparaiso. He volunteered and devoted his time to help with many tasks for the Salvation Army. Kenneth was known to many as the greatest man ever known.
On Aug. 19, 1972, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Porte, he married Claudia (Searing) Baldridge, who survives.
Also surviving are his two children, Thomas (Shealyn) Baldridge of Clermont, Fla., and Keri-Ann Marie (Dan) Baldridge Harper of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Dale Baldridge of Osceola, Ind.; two grandchildren, Jackson and Amira Baldridge; three nieces, Kathy, Debbie and Christine Baldridge; one nephew, Phillip Baldridge; and coworker and friend, Mark Antone.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Bruce Baldridge.
Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Salvation Army, 799 Capitol Rd., Valparaiso (South Haven), Ind., with Lt. Chris Nicolai officiating. Inurnment will take place in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Sunset Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
