Roger Lynn Jones, 67, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Northwest Health – La Porte, Ind.
He was born Feb. 16, 1954, in La Porte to Paul and Mildred (Barden) Jones.
Roger was a 1972 graduate of New Prairie High School. He spent most of his career working at NAPA as a parts specialist. Roger was an automobile enthusiast and enjoyed talking about vintage cars and attending car cruises and shows. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, observing wildlife, and the company of his cats.
On April 6, 1980, in La Porte, he married Penny Bell, who survives.
Also surviving are his son, Bradley (Jenna) Jones of Three Rivers, Mich.; one grandchild, Clara Jones; brother-in-law, David Bell of La Porte; nephew, Corey (Rita) Goers of La Porte; great-nephews, Corey (Megan) Goers of Avon, Ind., and Brandon Goers of La Porte; great-great-nephew, Camden Goers; and great-great-niece, Emily Goers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jo (William) Goers; brother, Gene Jones; sister-in-law, Janet Bell; brother-in-law, Ronald (Mavis) Bell; and nephews, Scott Goers and Mark Goers.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family service will take place at a later date.
