James “Jim” Patrick Logan, 63, of Kingsford Heights, Ind., passed away peacefully at 6:18 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2021, in his home.
He was born Sept. 16, 1957, in Akron, Oh., to John Wesley Logan and Phyllis (Felice) McClintock.
Jim retired from Alpha Baking, La Porte, Ind., after 27 years of service. He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jim was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union Local 364. He was a man of faith and loved Jesus. He made sure his children were saved, as God and family were his priorities. Jim enjoyed fishing and playing video games, but he loved spending time with his family most of all. Jim loved his dogs, Roxy, KC and Mary, and animals loved him. He always enjoyed attending family events, haunted houses, trips to Cedar Point, Friday nights at the drive-in, and vacations with his family.
On Sept. 14, 1974, in Elyria, Oh., he married the love of his life, Corless Sabrina Logan, who survives. Together they lovingly shared more than 46 years of marriage.
Also surviving are his mother, Phyllis McClintock of Willard, Oh.; four children, Niccole Gould of Cleveland, Oh., Brandon Snyder of Elyria, Oh., Charles (Monique) Logan of Elyria and James (Summer) Logan II of La Porte; three sisters, Patty (Mitch) Houser of Willard, Paula (Dave) Miller of Edwardsburg, Mich., and DeAnn (Greg) Wills of Nederland, Tex.; one brother, Joel Logan of Michigan City, Ind.; one brother-in-law, Terry (Barbara) Wood of Salisbury, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Maryann Wood of North Ridgeville, Oh.; special aunt, Delores Felice of Kingsford Heights; stepmother, Ginny Logan of Union Mills, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Veronica Mendoza of La Porte, Hannah Gould of Amherst, Oh., Ethan Estok of La Porte, Jackeb Milar of Oberlin, Oh., Gabrielle Payne of Elyria, Kaleb Logan of La Porte, Ashlyn Frazier of Koontz Lake, Ind., Kendall and Kinsley Logan of La Porte; and several nieces and nephews.receding him in death were his father; one infant sister, Phyllis Jean; one brother, Jay Logan; and one granddaughter, Lacey Snyder.
A funeral celebrating his life will be held at noon Wednesday, March 17, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, La Porte, with Chaplain Missy Buche officiating. Visitation and viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, and from 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Ind., immediately following services.
