Mark Alan Goers, 68, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at his home.
He was born July 24, 1952, in La Porte, Ind., to William Otto and Mary Jo (Jones) Goers.
Drafted in 1970, Mark was an Army Veteran, but never did a tour of duty after being injured stateside in training maneuvers. He was a member of the American Legion, where he was often seen playing pool as a member of the American Legion Team. Mark enjoyed playing and coaching softball, as well as gardening. He was an avid bowler and bowled a 300. Mark always loved his cocker spaniels, Missy, Gigi and Lizzy.
Surviving Mark are his brother, Corey (Rita) Goers of La Porte; nephews, Corey (Meghan) Goers of Avon, Ind., and Brandon Goers of La Porte; great-niece, Emily Goers, great-nephew, Camden Goers; sister-in-law, Marie Goers of La Porte; niece, Angie (Julius) Makina Ellis of La Porte; great-nieces Ciara Augusta, Madison Hanley and Rachel Ellis; great-nephew Malik Corley; uncle, Roger (Penny) Jones of La Porte; and cousins, Brad (Jenna) Jones of Three Rivers, Mich., and Clara Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Scott Goers.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. Services will take place at a later date.
