Vincent Richard Shortt, 82, of Rolling Prairie, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Feb. 9, 1938, in Windber, Pa., to Vincent W. and Evelyn Marie (Dobbins) Shortt.
Vincent worked in maintenance for many years at Easy Heat-Wirekraft. He retired in January 1998. He enjoyed woodworking. Vincent regularly delivered for Meals on Wheels and found great joy in helping those needing a helping hand, particularly during the Christmas season putting up their Christmas trees. Vincent loved to travel and watch his outdoor cats.
On Nov. 26, 1960, at St. Peter Catholic Church, La Porte, he married Linda Lucille McCormick, who survives. Vincent and Linda celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past November. For their 50th anniversary, they celebrated in Ireland. The memories created during their marriage will forever be remembered and cherished by the family.
Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy A. and Maggie C. Shortt of Rolling Prairie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Shortt.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Rolling Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
Due to the recent governor’s order, anyone attending the visitation and/or service is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing of six feet. Also, we are limited to 25 people in the building at any given time. We kindly ask for your patience as we oversee these mandated guidelines.
