James “Jim” A. Perz, 83, of La Porte, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021.
Jim was born Dec. 1, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., to Alex and Sherry (Rumbakowski) Perz.
Jim served his country in the United States Marine Corps for two years. He worked at Clark Equipment and National Can. He then decided to start his own business and became a distributor for Joy Dog Food until his retirement. Jim was a member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Northwestern Indiana Beagle Club and the American Legion.
On May 20, 1960, he married Shirley Koepke, who survives.
Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by two daughters, Karen Wingett (Ken) of Panama Beach City, Fla., and Kelly (Jeff) Mandeville of La Porte; two grandchildren, Jacob Paul Mandeville and Abigail Faith Mandeville; and a sister, Janet Siderits of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathy Ann Perz; a granddaughter, Kayla Paige Wingett; and a brother, William Perz.
There will be no services. Cremation has taken place. Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, La Porte, is handling arrangements.
