Rebecca “Becky” Y. Martin, 61, of Medaryville, Ind., passed away peacefully at 7:04 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at Indiana University Health, Indianapolis.
She was born Sept. 22, 1959, in La Porte, Ind., to Charles Edward and Alma Oletha (Wible) Martin.
Becky worked as a lab technician for Powder Tech, Valparaiso, Ind., for 13 years. She also worked at High Tech Hose in Kingsbury, Ind., and UGM in Valparaiso. Becky was an animal lover who loved cats. She was very crafty and was always there for others. Becky loved her grandchildren; she would do anything for them.
Surviving are her significant other of 47 years, Mark Pradziad of Otis, Ind.; two children, Jason (Stacey) of Chesterton, Ind., and Jeremy of Medaryville; one sister, Rhonda (Jim) Russell of La Porte; one brother, Clint Martin of Lafayette, Ind.; one former daughter-in-law, Tia Roberts; eight grandchildren, Madison, Lulu, Summer, Quinn, Aries, Chance, Ty, and Taylor; one niece, Wendy (Andy) Wert; one great-niece, Nicole Wert; one great-nephew, Chad Wert; and her best friend, Zola Easton Montana.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one infant sister, Alma Collene Martin.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, La Porte. Burial will take place at Carmel Cemetery, La Porte.
