Daniel Vale, 1991-2020

Daniel Lee Vale went to be with the Lord on the 24th of December, 2020.  

He was born Aug. 7, 1991, in Ostfildern, Germany, while his father served in the U.S. Army.  

Daniel graduated from Penn High School in 2010 and went on to get an associate degree in Energy Technologies from Ivy Tech College. Daniel worked in the solar panel industry and also in the home building profession with Clayton Homes in Wakarusa, Ind.   

Daniel was a fun-loving friend to many, with a personality that made you feel welcomed and at ease. He played on the Penn Rugby Club team in high school and loved to work out and exercise. Daniel also had a passion for music and played the drums and piano and sang with grace and style. He enjoyed the outdoors to go kayaking or ride on jet skis. He had a deep love for animals of all kinds.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Bob and Nancy Vale of La Porte; sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Will Palmer of Alexandria, Va.; and brother and sister-in-law, Joshua and Phuong Quynh Vale of Lillington, N.C. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Bill and Debbie Vale of Sebring, Fla., and maternal grandmother, Irene Hodges of Winter Haven, Fla. Other relatives include: aunt and uncle, Julie and Paul Huhn; uncle, Brian Vale; and aunt and uncle, Peggy and Duane Hunt.  

Daniel was preceded in death by his grandfather, Russell B. Hodges of Lompoc, Calif., and his uncle, Doug Vale of Goshen, Ind. 

Visitation for Daniel will take place at Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, Ind., on Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 3 to 7 p.m. La Porte time. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. La Porte time Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Paris Cemetery, New Paris, Ind. The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Herb Buwalda. Burial arrangements are being arranged by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, La Porte.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Daniel may be donated to Heartland Small Animal Rescue, 4540 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, Ind. 46545.
