Lois Starks Dillingham, 105, of La Porte, Ind., passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020.
She was born June 11, 1915, in Dawson Springs, Ky., to John D. and Ida Belle (Duke) Starks.
Lois lived through the 1917 pandemic, but the 2020 pandemic proved too much for her frail, 80-pound body.
She met and married the love of her life, Olin Harrison Dillingham, in 1937. He preceded her in death.
Lois was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved gardening and won the Terra Verde award in La Porte. She was also an accomplished seamstress, learning her trade during the war effort. A truly unique life span of almost 106 years. She is safely home for Christmas this year.
Lois was the last surviving of her 14 siblings: Myrtle Starks Milan, Verdie Starks, Stella Starks Pate Church, Vernon Starks, Victor Starks, Gladys Starks, Alvie Starks, Roy Starks, Orbil Starks, Altha Starks Batson, Orvil Starks, Fred Starks, Elsie Starks, and Oliver Starks.
Lois leaves behind a daughter, Sandra (Jim) Alm; two granddaughters, Leslee L. Oster and Vicki M. Wagoner; three great-granddaughters, Bobbi (Brandon) Rans, Jessica (Heath) Wagoner and Hailey Oster; and two great-great-grandchildren whom she adored, Johnny Rans and Layne Rans.
Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery in Evansville, Ind. Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, La Porte, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers or donations, a “pay it forward” kindness to another would be appreciated.
