Delmon Colston Lindsey, 1943-2020

Delmon Colston Lindsey, 77, of Hamlet, Ind. passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020 at Northwest Health – La Porte.

He was born April 14, 1943 in Giles County, Tenn. to Edward W. and Lillie M (Colston) Lindsey.

On April 25, 1970, in La Porte, he married Patricia Picklesimer.

Delmon proudly served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 6, 1961 to Jan. 6, 1964.  Afterwards, he worked in HVAC for many years.  Delmon was a member of American Legion Post #434 and 40-8 Vouture 276.  He also was a member of the veteran’s committee.  Delmon enjoyed playing pool, working, and visiting Las Vegas, and playing poker.  Most importantly, he enjoyed time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Jack W. Lindsey of Asheville, N.C., Jason W. Lindsey of Kingsford Heights, Ind., Kim Phillips of Michigan City, Ind., Tracy L. Lindsey of Kingsford Heights, and Pamela (Michael) Higley of La Porte; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Dessie Bealor and James Lindsey, both of Stillwell, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Cullen and Gary Lindsey; and sister, Peggy Majors.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, where a celebration of life service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial with full military honors will then take place at Salem Cemetery.

Due to the recent governor’s order, attendees are required to wear a mask.
