Dorothy “Dottie” Pearson, 79, of LaPorte, died Jan. 7, 2014, at her home.
She was born in LaPorte on April 5, 1934, to Leo W. and Martha B. (Schuman) Albers.
Dorothy retired from American Rubber after 33 years of service. She had attended Countryside Christian Church and was a member of the VFW, American Legion and PNA.
On Feb. 2, 1980, she married John P. Pearson Sr., who preceded her in death June 10, 2004.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Leonard Albers; her first husband, Lawrence Miller; and her second husband, Gordon Goodsite.
Surviving are her beloved daughter, Martha Varga of South Bend, IN; son, Alvin Miller of South Bend; stepdaughter, Rosemary (Robert) Aikman of LaPorte; stepsons, Walter (Jeni) Pearson of LaPorte and John P. Pearson Jr. of LaPorte; grandchildren, Chad Miller, April Greetham, Shayne Varga and Maranda Van Bruaene; and great-grandchildren, Luke and Anna Miller, Jake and Jenna Van Bruaene, Vivien Varga, and Jacob Greetham. Together with her husband John they shared 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A cremation committal will take place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, handling arrangements. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte.
