Ruth S. Miller, 94, of La Porte, Ind. passed away Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020.
She was born Jan. 3, 1926 in Chicago, Ill. to Frank and Bessie (Fee) Schmich.
On April 12, 1947 Ruth married John J. “Jack” Miller.
Ruth retired from the La Porte County Auditor’s office where she was a clerk. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter Joan of Ark Circle, and Beta Theta Tau Sorority. Ruth also enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, crocheting, oil painting and sewing.
Survivors include sons, Patrick Miller of South Bend, Ind., James (Angie) Miller of La Porte and Bob Miller of La Porte; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Norene Quartuccio of La Porte; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack on April 15, 1987; and brother, Robert Schmich.
Cremation has taken place.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1101 Michigan Ave., La Porte with Rev. Nate Edquist officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
