Karen S. Drake, 62, of La Porte, Ind. passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020 at La Porte Hospital.
She was born June 3, 1958 in La Porte to Daniel and Jo Carolyn (Gower) Drake.
Karen was a lifelong resident of La Porte, and a member of the Agape Church. Most recently a customer service representative for Kohl’s, she was also the owner of HairForce Salon for 10 years. Karen enjoyed gardening and loved taking pictures. Her true love in life was her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her father, of La Porte; sister, Pam (Bobby) Schoch of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; brother, Danny (Angie) Drake of La Porte; aunts, Mary Kay Barkow and Dortha Sue Gower, both of La Porte; her beloved nieces and nephews, Ashley (Matt) Nelson of La Porte, Lindsey Schoch of Knox, Ind., Kyle Schoch of La Porte, Sarah Drake of La Porte, Taylor Drake of La Porte, Josh (Emily) Kayser of La Porte, Zach (Taneesha) Kayser of Texas, Andrew Kayser of La Porte, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother on Aug. 1, 2013.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 6 at Agape Christian Church, 16011 I St., La Porte, followed by a life celebration at noon with Ben Crostreet, officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind., which is handling the arrangements.
