Lloyd E. Singleton, 87, of La Porte, Ind. passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
He was born Oct. 21, 1932 in North Liberty, Ind. to Lloyd “Buck” and Irene (Ryan) Singleton.
He married Norma Anspaugh in August 1955, then married Diana Louise Moscrip in 1982.
Lloyd was a 1950 graduate of North Liberty High School and a 1960 graduate of Commerce Business College, South Bend, Ind. In 1951 he joined the United States Navy and was discharged in 1956. He served in the Korean War era as radar and navigator on two Navy ships. He worked at the Bendix Corporation for 18 years, Wheel Horse in South Bend in management, Harris Float Boat in Fort Wayne, Ind. as a vice president, Patton Electric in Fort Wayne as a vice president, and an independent representative for Bali and Hunter Douglas, before retiring in 2007.
Lloyd enjoyed their horses, dogs, and cats, traveling to many states, gardening, golfing, and enjoying life to the fullest. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Singleton; sons, Stephen Singleton, Scott Singleton, and Shaun Singleton; step-daughters, Juli Lynn Cusmariu and Lisa Ann Nielsen; grandchildren, Mandolin Alexis Arochas, Lauren Louise Nielsen, John Christian Nielsen, Benjamin Thomas Singleton and Daniel Joseph Nielsen; great-grandchildren, Nikolaos Jonathan Arochas and Arya Monroe Arochas; and brother, Kenneth Singleton.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 5 at the First United Methodist Church in La Porte with Pastor Bob Vale officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Ave., La Porte, Ind.46350.
