Leroy Archie Dolph, 83, of Michigan City, Ind. passed away peacefully at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 at his home.
He was born Feb. 12, 1937 in Michigan City to Leo K. and Helen (Schwanke) Dolph.
Leroy was a devoted husband, father and papa. He worked 40-plus years for Kingsley Furniture in La Porte, Ind. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren; making and upholstering furniture; gardening and being outside; fishing; and watching classic western movies and the Chicago Cubs. Leroy would talk to anyone and always leave them smiling with his lighthearted sense of humor.
On June 24, 1958 in Hernando, Miss. he married Karen Mae (Menke) Dolph, who preceded him in death June 20, 2015.
Also preceding him in death were his parents and nine siblings, Jim, Kenny, Richard, Phyllis, Jean, Louise, Shirley, Mary Jane and Thelma.
Surviving are his three daughters, Donna (Leon Young) Dolph of Lakewood, Colo., Dawn (Shannon) West and Rhonda (Joe) Novak, both of La Porte; four sons, Mark (Marion), Thomas (Lisa), Ron and Robert Dolp, all of Michigan City; three siblings, Jerry (Rosa) Dolph, Don (Shirley) Dolph, and Betty Green; 16 grandchildren, Mark Dolph Jr., Brett, Kailynn (Daniel) Blakley, Thomas, Kristen, Leighton, Nicholas, and Hayden Dolph, Gabrielle, Ethan, Olivia, and Preston West, Shelby Young, Joe Novak Jr., Zachary, and Lorelei Novak; and 11 great-grandchildren, Hayley, Damien, Malakai, Makhail, Makari, La’Nia, Maliyah, Anthony Dolph and Lillie Young, Lilah, and Levi Blakley.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 2 at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, Ind. (219) 362-3100.
