Pamela “Pam” O’Marrah, 62, of La Porte, Ind. and formerly of Chicago, Ill., passed away unexpectedly at 7:38 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Franciscan Health Hospital, Crown Point, Ind.
She was born Dec. 5, 1957 in Chicago to Edward and Elizabeth (Hughes) Florian.
Pamela was recently retired. She was very family-oriented and loved cooking for everyone. Pamela had a big heart and personality. She was very helping towards others and was a great neighbor.
On March 31, 1978 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Chicago, she married Patrick O’Marrah, who preceded her in death Nov. 24, 2010.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Joyce Bates; and sister-in-law, Betty Florian.
Surviving are her two daughters, Stacy (Larry) Wheeler and Mary O’Marrah, both of La Porte; two sisters, Linda (Don) Scott of Rensselaer, Ind. and Kathy (Tom) Carey of Pullman, Mich.; two brothers, Edward Florian of Wheatfield, Ind. and David (Stephanie) Florian of South Haven, Mich.; sister-in-law, Mary (Louie) DeSimone of Chicago; five grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Wheeler, Kyle (Sam Moffitt) Wheeler, Jacob Wheeler, Anna O’Marrah and Kathleen O’Marrah; and two great-grandchildren, Malachi and Maddox Moffitt.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3 at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100, where a funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. A private graveside service will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Alsip, Ill.
