Thelma Louise Pataluch, 96, of LaPorte, IN, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018.
Thelma was born Nov. 26, 1922, in LaPorte to Alvin and Beulah (Baker) Pontius.
On March 9, 1946 in La Porte, Indiana Thelma married Stanley J. Pataluch who preceded her in death on September 4, 1968.
Thelma retired after 39 years of service from Whirlpool Corporation working as the Parcel Post Rater. She graduated from LaPorte High School in 1941 and was a member of Agape Christian Church. She was an avid Cubs fan.
Thelma is survived by a son, Robert (Diane) Pataluch of Coos Bay, OR; four grandchildren, Robert Pataluch II of Palm Bay, FL, Amanda Pataluch of Palm Bay, FL, Steve Irwin of Las Vegas, NV, and Scott Irwin of Grants Pass, OR; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, John L. Pataluch; two sisters, Erma Harp and Phyllis Davis; a brother, Alvin Pontius; a nephew, Larry Davis; and longtime friend, Frank Scharf.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Agape Christian Church, LaPorte, where family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the service. Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
