Thomas M. Hootman, 91, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2018.
He was born Feb. 3, 1927, in East Lansing, Michigan, to Millard and Ruth (Mann) Hootman.
Thomas retired as a Technical Engineer with the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Local Union 130 UA. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and graduated from LaPorte High School in 1945.
On August 10, 1973, Thomas married Sharon Perschke, who survives with their children, Mary Ann (Paul) Huber of LaPorte, Robert Hootman of Michigan City, Martha Elizabeth Jones of New Carlisle, John (Rebecca) Hootman of LaPorte, Sandra Garcia of LaPorte, Steven (Suzanne) Hootman of Seattle, Washington, and Kelly (Michael) Breitzka of LaPorte; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Sisters, Betty Anders and Mary Ann Hootman, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, LaPorte, where a memorial service will begin at 7 p.m.
