Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, LaPorte, is handling the arrangements for Lois E. Diedrich, 95, of New Carlisle, Indiana, who passed away Monday, October 15, 2018.
Lois was born February 10, 1923, in Walkerton, Indiana, to the late Carl and Rose (Frain) Jensen.
On February 2, 1946, Lois married Edward H. Diedrich, who preceded her in death on July 11, 2008.
Lois was the manager of the deli at Al’s Thrift-T-Mart for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Senior Group and Circle 6 at the church, volunteered at the church thrift shop on A Street, and loved to bake and work in her flower garden. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to play penny slots.
Lois leaves behind a daughter, Kathryn (John) Schutz of New Carlisle, Indiana; a son, John (Lois) Diedrich of LaPorte, Indiana; grandchildren, Tony (Yadi) Schutz, Matthew Schutz, Katie (Kenny) Adams, Daniel Diedrich, and Ida (Mark) Kmiecik; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Benjamin, and Adler Schutz, Madeline Diedrich, and Wyatt, Marshall, Beau, and Calla Kmiecik; and several nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Andrea Schutz; a grandson, Robert Diedrich; and eight siblings.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, October 19, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, LaPorte. Funeral services will be at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, October 20, at St. John Lutheran Church, LaPorte, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Pastor Ronald Brauer will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, LaPorte.
