Stanley Pulaski, 1929-2018

Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, is handling the arrangements for Stanley R. Pulaski, 89, of LaPorte, who passed away peacefully at 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018, in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born August 9, 1929, in Chicago, IL, to Felix and Adela (Malenski) Pulaski.

Stanley retired in 2009 as a general manager from Industrial Maintenance Welding and Machining, Kingsbury, after 31 years of service. He began his career in the steel industry as a scarfer for Kensington Steel, Chicago, IL. As a gun enthusiast, Stanley was also a co-owner of Chuck’s Gun Shop, Dolton, IL, for more than 10 years. In 1972, he moved to LaPorte to work at Portec, Kingsbury, until he joined IMW. Stanley enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed deer and duck hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and golfing. Stanley deeply loved his family.

On January 29, 1949, in Chicago, IL, he married the love of his life, Ellen (Ellis) Pulaski, who preceded him in death January 11, 2017. Together they were blessed to have shared over 67 years of marriage.

Also preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and four sisters.

Surviving are his children, Ted (Karen) Pulaski of LaPorte, Phyllis (Tom) Kukla of LaPorte, Chet (Janene) Pulaski of LaPorte and Casmir (Deena) Pulaski of LaPorte; 11 grandchildren, Sarah (Andy) Archer, Tara (Eric) Froedge, Danyelle (Billy Arnett) Gumz, Cameron Pulaski, Zach Kukla, Jake Kukla, Nathaniel Kennedy, Casimir Pulaski, Zoey Pulaski, Gabriel Pulaski, and Sophia Pulaski; and four great-grandchildren, Campbell, Grey, Ellie and Leo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, LaPorte, with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Visitation and viewing will be from 4–8 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, and from 9–10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 16, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte. A Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, immediately following services.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 Bach St., LaPorte, IN 46350, in memory of Stanley R. Pulaski.
