Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, is handling the arrangements for Calvin G. Thompson, 92, of LaPorte, Indiana, who passed away peacefully at his farm home on Sunday, December 31, 2017.
Calvin was born October 19, 1925, in LaPorte; he was the beloved son of DeVere W. Thompson and Gladys (Garwood) Thompson. United in marriage on September 11, 1948, Calvin was the cherished husband of Marjorie Lang Thompson, who survives. Calvin graduated from Westville High School in 1942, and had been a grain and cattle farmer all of his life.
Calvin Thompson was a loving dad and grandfather who is survived by his two daughters, Elaine Thompson Darby and Janice Thompson; son, Wayne C. Thompson, and grandchild, Curtis Darby.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents.
As Cal said many times, “We have had a wonderful life and times with our family.”
A graveside service will be held at Door Village Cemetery on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at noon. Interment will follow.
