Dale A. Will, 80, of LaPorte, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born in Herington, KS, on February 3, 1937, to Albert and Lydia (Strauss) Will.
Dale was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a former 6th grade teacher and choir director at St. John’s Lutheran School. He loved woodworking, gardening, fishing, music, and playing and teaching piano. Throughout his career he worked as a principal, teacher and organist.
On July 24, 1960, he married Marlene Will, who survives in LaPorte. Also surviving are his beloved children, Michele (Steve) Ailes of Plainfield, IN, Stephanie (Joel) Boesche of Waco, TX, Kimberly (Michael) Woolard of Danville, IN, and Denise (Robert) Mahon of Clemson, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Judy) Will of Albuquerque, NM; and sister, Dorothy (John) Fredrickson of Marion, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 12, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Ronald Brauer officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 11, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the service at the church on Saturday.
