Mr. Edwin H. Huelster, 85, of Golden Living Center/Fountainview Terrace Nursing Home, LaPorte, died at 1:35 a.m. on May 27, 2013.
He was born April 18, 1928, in Michigan City, IN, to Edwin and Elizabeth (Tickfer) Huelster.
Edwin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was an avid Chicago sports fan. He grew up in Merrillville, IN, and moved to LaPorte in 1976.
Edwin is survived by three nephews, Ronald (Jeri) Hesters of LaPorte, Jerome Hesters of LaPorte and David (Pam) Hesters of Rolling Prairie, IN; two great-nieces and two great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Lou Hesters.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, on Friday at 1 p.m.
