John C. Fischbacher, 79, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Hospice Franciscan Communities in Michigan City, IN.
He was born Aug. 5, 1937, in Michigan City to Ernest and Mildred (Crawford) Fischbacher.
John was a plumbing and heating contractor for many years in the LaPorte area and before retiring, he was the owner of Suburban Mechanical LTD of New Buffalo, MI.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Burian Fischbacher; two sons, Michael R. (Sandra) Fischbacher of LaPorte and Stephen J. Fischbacher of St. Petersburg, FL; two grandchildren, Lennon G. and Mandy J. Fischbacher of LaPorte; his sister, Judy Fischbacher Kovacic of LaPorte; his stepchildren, Rhonda (Ron) Petro, Jeff (Patty) Campbell, Ronee (Dan) Pumfery, Rob (Crystal) Burian, and Ren (Mindy) Burian; and step-grandchildren, Alec, Danielle, Chelsea, Cameron, Logan, Evan, Ryan, Gianna, Remi, Michael, Steven, and Daniel.
A memorial for John will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1205 E. Jefferson Ave., LaPorte, with Michael Kaderly officiating. Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte.
