Margaret Rose Czarnecki, 71, of LaPorte, died Aug. 19, 2013, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
She was born in LaPorte on May 25, 1942, to Herman L. and Alta I. (Jensen) Harness.
Margaret worked as a real estate agent for Betty M. Daniels Realty. She attended Purdue University and was very proud of her real estate license. She loved flowers and gardening, and was a member of Four Seasons Garden Club and past president of Terra Verde Garden Club.
On Sept. 28, 1963, in Kingsford Heights, IN, she married Kenneth Czarnecki, who survives.
Also surviving are her beloved children, Laura C. (Bryan) Metzger of York, PA, Kenneth M. Czarnecki II of Walkerton, IN, and David W. (La Donna) Czarnecki of Lewisville, TX; and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Anthony and Benjamin Metzger.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Norman L. Harness.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, with Rev. Larry Owens officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will follow the service at St. Martin Cemetery, LaCrosse, IN.
