William D. Sandefur Jr., 43, of LaPorte, formerly of Hammond, IN, died Monday, July 20, 2015, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
William was a 1990 graduate of Morton Sr. High School in Hammond. He had a love for sports, especially the White Sox, and coached little league.
On May 14, 2011, he married Jennifer L. Frazier, who survives.
Also surviving are his parents, Walter and Deborah L. (Patterson) Piech; four children, Patricia, Kindrick, Joshua and Decklan; granddaughter, Ari; grandmother, Pat Lopez; siblings, Kristi (Edward) Pomplun, Joshua Piech and Jeremy (Allison) Piech; nieces and nephews, Brett, Nathan, Alexander, Mason, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn, Cayden, Morgan, Kara, and Bridger; in-laws, William and Bobbie Frazier, William and Kim Frazier, and Zach and Jamie Ramsey; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Thomas Patterson; great-grandma, Virginia Kotechi; grandpa, Jose Lopez; and uncle, Brian Patterson.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, with Rev. Edward Hasnerl officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from noon until the service. A cremation committal has taken place.
