Miriam “Sue” Gail Laue, 82, of LaPorte, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Miller Health and Rehabilitation, LaPorte.
She was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Beaver Dam, WI, to Lloyd and Doris (Walker) Larson.
Miriam retired from a career in nursing after 27 years. She was a member of Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church. Miriam enjoyed spending time with family, reading, listening to music, and sharing her nursing skills caring for people in the community.
On Sept. 3, 1955, in Beaver Dam, she married Vernon Elmer Laue, who preceded her in death in 2014.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, James Robert Laue; and brothers, Jack, Richard “Dick” and Russell.
Surviving are her beloved children, Steve (Pam) Laue of LaPorte, Stuart (Sandra) Laue of Henderson, NV, and Karen Drudi of Traverse City, MI; six grandchildren, Eric (Mindon) Laue of Milwaukee, WI, Kristin Laue of McCarthy, AK, Amanda Laue (Joseph O’Connor and a great-granddaughter on the way) of LaPorte, Ian Laue of LaPorte, Sean (Mei) Laue of Surprise, AZ, and Alexa Drudi of Traverse City, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church with Rev. Debbie Beason and Rev. Dorothy Jones officiating. Visitation will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service. A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte.
